Triparna is a Kolkata-born vocalist trained in North Indian Classical Music. She began her journey under Pta. Gargee Sidhant Datta of the Mewati Gharana, receiving guidance from senior disciples of Pt. Jasraj, such as Shri Saptarshi Chakraborty, and personal encouragement from the maestro himself. She has also studied Dhrupad under Smt. Ranjita Mukherjee of the Dagarvani tradition and Shri Shirshendu Mukherjee of the Patiala Gharana. Currently, she continues her training under Shri Brajeshwar Mukherjee of the Patiala Gharana, a senior disciple of Pt. Ajoy Chakraborty.

COLLABORATIONS AND PERFORMANCES

Triparna is a genre-fluid vocalist whose work bridges Indian classical music with contemporary global sounds. She has earned national recognition in India, including winning the prestigious Bhakti Ki Awaz competition presented by Hindustan Times and securing a Top 10 position in the national Sing Dil Se contest. Based in the UK, Triparna is an active presence on the international live music circuit. She has collaborated with a wide range of artists and bands, recording at iconic studios such as Abbey Road Studios and RAK Studios, and is a regular collaborator with the renowned psychedelic rock band Kula Shaker, touring extensively across the UK. Her performances span major venues and festivals, including Carfest, Lindisfarne Festival, Camper Calling, Sign of the Times Festival, and Southampton Mela Festival, as well as appearances at the Electric Ballroom, Novello Theatre, and Wulfrun Hall. Her vocal talent has also been showcased in dance collaborations with renowned dance organisations, including the Annapurna Indian Dance Company, Indrani Datta Dance, Kala The Arts, Aradhana Arts (with Pt. Sanju Sahai and Smt. Jaymini Sanju Sahai), and the Suchismita Ganguly Dance Company.
Her voice also features prominently in interdisciplinary projects such as the Mantra Orchestra Project, a cross-cultural ensemble blending Indian mantras with Western orchestration. Triparna frequently collaborates with her husband, fusion violinist Rohan Roy, creating immersive performances that weave Indian classical vocals with violin-led compositions rooted in both Eastern and Western musical traditions.
